Syracuse, N.Y. -- A new six-year bowl lineup for the Atlantic Coast Conference that includes a newly created bowl game in Boston and another bowl game in San Diego was announced Thursday by the conference office.
The new bowl lineup will start with the 2020 season and run through the 2025 season.
The ACC will be contracted with the following bowls from 2020-25:
· Belk Bowl (Charlotte, N.C.)
· Camping World Bowl (Orlando, Fla.)
· Sun Bowl (El Paso, Tex.)
· Military Bowl (Annapolis, Md.)
· New Era Pinstripe Bowl (Bronx, N.Y.)
· Holiday Bowl (San Diego)
· Gator Bowl (Jacksonville, Fla.)
· Unnamed Boston bowl game (Boston)
The ACC will remain contractually tied to the Orange Bowl (Miami) in years it is not hosting a College Football Playoff semifinal game. The league champion will play in the Orange Bowl unless it is picked for the four-team College Football Playoff. In that event, the highest-ranked team from the ACC will head to Miami.
Under the new agreement, another ACC team will be selected for either the Gasparilla Bowl (Tampa), Birmingham Bowl (Birmingham, Ala.), or First Responder Bowl (Dallas).
In all, the ACC will have 10 guaranteed bowl berths.
An ACC team will also be sent to the Outback Bowl (Tampa) if the ACC’s opponent in the Orange Bowl is a Big Ten school.
Syracuse defeated West Virginia, 34-18 in the Camping World Bowl to cap a 10-3 season last December.
The Orange opens the 2019 season Aug. 31 at Liberty. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
