Cleveland Browns Played Their Version Of Flag Football: Crowquill

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns started 2019 by losing big to the Tennessee Titans last Sunday, 43-13. The biggest reason seemed to be Cleveland’s lack of discipline while running up 18 penalties for 182 yards, although Baker Mayfield’s three fourth-quarter interceptions certainly didn’t help.

Cleveland couldn’t seem to keep its composure. The Browns were caught throwing a punch, kicking an opponent in the head, roughing the quarterback and constantly holding. Two Browns were ejected.

Fortunately for coach Freddie Kitchens, the Browns have an extra day this week to prepare for the New York Jets on Monday night. Plenty of time to rinse the bad taste of the opener from their mouth and work on being more disciplined.

Crowquill, by artist Ted Crow, appears Wednesdays and Sundays in The Plain Dealer and on i">>cleveland.com.
